  • Blood Gas & Electrolyte Analyzers: Dedicated point-of-care units for immediate assessment of critical care and emergency samples.
  • Urine Analyzers: High-speed systems for physical, chemical, and microscopic examination of urine specimens.
  • Thermal Cyclers: High-precision instruments for gene expression analysis, viral load monitoring, and genetic mutation screening.
  • Gel Electrophoresis & Documentation Systems: Horizontal and vertical electrophoresis units paired with digital gel docs for DNA, RNA, and protein visualization.
  • Biosafety Cabinets (Class II): Certified laminar airflow workstations ensuring sterile conditions for molecular assays and infectious sample handling.
  • Spectrophotometry Systems: Double-beam UV-Visible spectrophotometers for accurate quantification of proteins, nucleic acids, and enzyme kinetics.
  • Elisa Plate Readers & Washers: systems for microplate-based immunoassays used in research and infectious disease screening.
  • Student Practical Laboratories: Spacious, ergonomically designed labs equipped with individual workstations, microscopes, centrifuges, and colorimeters.
  • Cold Storage Chain Network: Medical-grade deep freezers (-20°C and -80°C)  for the preservation of delicate biological samples, enzymes, and reagents.
  • Central Deionized Water Plant: Integrated multi-stage purification systems providing Type I and Type II ultra-pure water for critical analytical assays.
  • Digital Classroom & Seminar Hall: Smart lecture rooms integrated with audio-visual learning aids for regular case-study discussions and academic presentations.
Objectives

The primary objective of the Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry is to excel in medical education, deliver precise diagnostic services, and pioneer translational biomedical research. We aim to cultivate an ecosystem where scientific knowledge directly improves diagnostics and community health.

  • Mastery of Foundations: To ensure students achieve a comprehensive understanding of human metabolism, molecular biology, and biochemical pathways.
  • Clinical Correlation: To train students to logically correlate laboratory data with clinical signs and symptoms for accurate disease diagnosis.

Though founded in 2020-21, our department has rapidly transformed from a nascent department into a high-performing hub of academic excellence . Since our establishment in 2020-21 our department has nurtured a rapidly growing community of alumni. Despite our young history, our graduates  have successfully translated their rigorous academic training into stellar professional opportunities across healthcare, research, etc.
