The Department of Information Technology was established to nurture such individuals — creative thinkers and problem solvers who can make a meaningful impact in the IT industry and beyond. Our department offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (B.Sc IT) — a six-semester undergraduate program that blends theory with practical experience. Students gain a solid foundation in areas like networking, database management, cybersecurity, web development, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Through these courses, we aim to prepare students not just for today’s tech challenges, but also for the innovations of tomorrow. Beyond classroom learning, the department regularly organizes skill development programs, workshops, and add-on courses in partnership with leading institutions such as the University of Kashmir, the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), and other academic and industry collaborators. These initiatives give students valuable exposure to real-world applications and current industry trends.
